Bridge Park is a self catering holiday cottage with a welcoming, friendly atmosphere where you can relax and feel completely 'at home'. It sleeps up to 5 in comfort and is situated in Glen Lochay, just half a mile outside the village of Killin in Perthshire, Scotland. The cottage offers complete seclusion and tranquility with glorious views up the glen and across the fields to the River Lochay.
Bridge Park Cottage was once a croft. The name means 'The Croft in the field by the Bridge'. It has a large, sunny garden with many mature trees, shrubs and lots of wildlife visits the bird table outside the kitchen window. At the front there is a small lawn surrounded by a low stone wall with a large lawn sloping down to the field (or park) that surrounds the cottage on three sides. At the back of the house there is a large lawned area with fruit trees and lots of space for games. There is also a substantial stone shed, or bothy, that is lockable and can be used for storage of fishing gear and bicycles.
Should the weather prove inclement the sitting room has an open fire and is equipped with Wi-Fi, satellite TV, DVD and stereo radio/CD player together with chess, cards, drafts, backgammon, various other games and a copious selection of books and DVDs to while away the hours 'till it brightens up outside.
Though situated in Glen Lochay it is within easy reach of the restaurants and amenities in the bustling village of Killin and is an ideal central base for exploring Scotland. The village is a little removed from the west end of Loch Tay. Its focal point is the narrow stone bridge that makes the most of the dramatic Falls of Dochart, a spectacular series of rapids above the bridge. Killin has a range of shops, including a food supermarket, and we particularly recommend the Outdoor Shop to acquire that essential bit of kit you left at home.
At the bottom of the Glen, a 10 minute walk away, is the excellent Killin Golf Club, for which we provide concessionary tickets, while a short distance up Glen Lochay is Moirlanich Longhouse, in the care of the National Trust for Scotland. We also provide two free fishing permits for the 25 miles of trout fishing overseen by the Killin Breadalbane Angling Club.
