There are other places that have a Chinese flavour around the Taymouth Estate including the Chinese Bridge, built so that his Lordship did not have to travel all the way into the village to visit Rock Lodge. There were also Chinese gardens, and the ball room in the Castle is called the Chinese Room because of the silk tapestries and paintings on the ceilings. Rock Lodge is classed a category B listed building and is now roofless and derelict. It is looked after by the Forestry Commission.
