Starting at the Allean Forest car park, follow the way marked walk through the forest passing a partly restored eighteenth century black house or ‘clachan’ and further on, the remains of an eighth century `ring fort` in a commanding position overlooking Loch Tummel. Keep an eye out for red squirrels, roe deer and pine marten and for those interested in birds - siskin, crossbill and gold crest can be seen in the mix of conifers and broadleaf trees near Loch Tummel.
