strathtayGolf in Highland Perthshire is fun!

Now we don't want you to think that means we don't have quality courses that can be a challenge - our courses are all that.

But more than anything, we want you to enjoy a relaxed round of golf in stunning surroundings.  No good walks ruined here...

Our three 18 hole courses at Dunkeld, Aberfeldy and Pitlochry offer a great variety of terrains and challenges: dramatic ups and downs at Dunkeld, glorious views above Pitlochry and the delightful parkland setting of Aberfeldy as it straddles the River Tay.

Our 9 hole courses are no less individual - from the James Braid designed Blair Atholl, the extraordinary Strathtay by Grandtully, through to the beautiful Mains of Taymouth at Kenmore.

Food & Drink

Think of Scotland and you think of whisky. Highland Perthshire has three of Scotland’s most popular whisky distilleries. Dewar’s World of Whisky at Aberfeldy Distillery is a hands-on, hi-tech insight into our national drink. Pitlochry has two distilleries: Bell’s Blair Athol Distillery presents the story of the “water of life” in a traditional manner, while Edradour has been known as Scotland’s smallest distillery.

Beer drinkers are certainly not forgotten, Moulin Brewery was one of Scotland’s first independent micro-breweries and produces a range of acclaimed beers.

Restaurants and cafés throughout Highland Perthshire make imaginative use of fresh, local produce when it’s at its seasonal best, and if you have a sweet tooth, don’t miss desserts like cranachan - raspberries, oatmeal, cream and honey mixed with a wee taste of whisky.

You’ll find plenty of opportunities to take home a flavour of Highland Perthshire from our many local delicatessens and food shops, including locally smoked salmon and meats, delicious baking or fine chocolate.

Why not visit one of our regular farmers’ markets and meet some of the characters who produce our unique food and drink.

Take Five at the Heart of Natural Scotland

2013 was the Year of Natural Scotland. For Highland Perthshire, every year is a year of nature, because this part of the world really is the HEART of Natural Scotland!

We've come up with some suggestions of how you can enjoy this amazing natural environment, organised into groups of "Big Fives". These are just the tip of the iceberg – we invite you to delve deeper and truly discover the Heart of Natural Scotland.
